Chapel Hill Rentals
Locally Owned and Operated Apartments and Condominiums
August 2010:  "University Gardens has been great for me and my friends. It is close to school, somewhat secluded from Chapel Hill life, and quiet. I am glad other students can take advantage of these great qualities."

I lived here for a couple of years and really loved it! There were so many things about it that made my stay wonderful...I was able to paint it whatever color I wanted - my landlord took great care of me - I got to know my neighbors - I always felt safe - walking distance to downtown and the Bolan Creek Trail - walking trails in my backyard - washer/dryer in unit...just to name a few =D When I think about how little the rent was for all of those amenities, I miss it. I'd still live there if my relationship didn't take me to Raleigh. Hope you love it as much as I did!

For the past two years I rented a two-bedroom apartment in the University Gardens complex. The apartment was spacious and comfortable and met my needs for a quiet space that was convenient to the University campus. My neighbors during that period were on the staff of UNC and in the graduate school there. I could not have asked for nicer neighbors. My landlord responded promptly to any problems that arose, although these were few. The apartment was warm in winter and cool in summer and always felt very secure. My balcony gave me a view of a green belt that housed squirrels and an occasional deer.

I have lived in University Gardens for a year and a half so far, and i will be renewing my lease for a third time. I have nothing but great things to say about the unit, my landlord, and the price.

Unit - The one thing that you have to know about UG is that each unit is individually owned so there is not just one particular land lord that governs over all the units. My unit is spacious and clean....I'm a generally clean person, but have left food out over night and still have NEVER had infestation!

Landlord - My landlord from day 1 has been very PROACTIVE & CONSISTENT with anything I've had go wrong. The reality is that I haven't had a lot to complain about. and when I have said something he's usually fixed the problem within 24-48 hrs. He calls, e-mails and keeps the lines of communication open. I had a problem with another tenant that he was able to intervene and straighten things out. My landlord keeps me happy and thats why I am renewing my lease ford the THIRD time!

Price - Well, my unit is a town home Two big Bedrooms and 1.5 baths...nice wood floors....washer/dryer in unit, and lots of closet space...I pay less than $600/mo...You can't beat that.....most of my colleagues don't have the space I have and pay more than I do....on top of that some have tried to get into a unit, but I think my landlord may have been out of units.

My Experience has been completely different and I recommend it. There are a lot of family's who stay there. Its Quiet, and the most noise I hear is a teenager dribbling his basketball in mid day for like 15 seconds as he's going to the park. Make sure you get to know the LANDLORD, because my experience has been great thus far!
